Dana Romero, MSN, FNP-BC
Bariatric Program Coordinator
Background
Dana Romero is our Nurse Practitioner and serves as
the Program Coordinator for the Mount Sinai Program
for Surgical Weight Loss. After completing her Bachelor
of Science in Nursing at University of Maryland, she
served as a Surgical Critical Care Nurse at The Johns
Hopkins Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. She went
on to obtain a Master of Science Degree at the University
of Pennsylvania in Family Health.
Prior to joining the Mount Sinai team
she worked as a nurse practitioner in both primary care
and transplant surgery. She developed her interest in
obesity-related health issues while working in primary
care. Dana is highly skilled in managing a broad range
of obesity-related health issues. She is also fluent
in Spanish.
Dana joined the Mount Sinai Program
for Surgical Weight Loss in 2008 and now works closely
with both Dr. Herron and Dr. Kini to coordinate all
phases of the pre- and postoperative bariatric program.
As a bariatric patient, you will work closely with Dana
from your first visit to our office onward.

Certifications
Dana is board certified by the American Nurses
Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
She is licensed by the State of New York as a Nurse
Practitioner in Family Health. Also, Dana is an active
member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society
of Nursing.
